Job Description:

Tri-North is looking for an energetic, fun, and kind certified professional to act as a lead teacher and director for its one-of-a-kind onsite childcare center, Little Builders, offering affordable daycare for employees and their children. This person will be responsible for developing and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years, in addition to working alongside the other teachers with the children. The ideal person will be innovative and engaging, willing to challenge the status quo, and able to communicate effectively and regularly with the parents.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be a highly self-motivated individual with strong communication and collaboration skills. This individual will be expected to work in the classroom in addition to maintaining director duties. We are looking for someone who will not only immediately take on the role of director, but who will also evaluate what we have been doing and constantly look for ways to improve.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Devise and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for young children
  • Supervise teachers, volunteers, and substitute teachers
  • Maintain the schedule for the daycare
  • Communicate regularly and appropriately with parents of the center
  • Provide regular updates to Tri-North’s Executive Team regarding the center
  • Maintain current CPR with AED Use and First Aid certifications
  • Attend and record early childhood training sessions, workshops and other professional course work each year to meet or exceed DCF requirements
  • Conduct all hiring, orientation, and training for center staff
  • Develop an appropriate program for field trips, special events, and special days and communicate the same to parents
  • Lead staff in emergency procedures and drills
  • Possess and maintain “registry” certificate for center director for Little Builders
  • Maintain all spaces in an exceptionally clean and sanitary manner
  • Maintain and regularly update the Little Builders Day School Parent Handbook
Requirements:
  •  Successfully completed training as outlined in the Licensing Rules for Group Child Care Centers from the Department of Children and Families (DCF), to qualify as a center director
  • Successfully completed Infant/Toddler training or its equivalent as approved by DCF from an institution of higher education.
  • Obtain 1O hours of training in supervision or personnel management within 1 year of assuming position of center director, if such training has not previously been
