Meriter DeForest-Windosr Clinic

Tri-North Builders was the negotiated design-builder for two new Meriter clinics in Wisconsin: Deforest and Monona. Tri-North worked closely with Meriter and Kahler Slater to develop the goals for these two clinics and to determine what practice areas best fit with each clinic. We also worked diligently to ensure each clinic could easily be expanded in the future. Once construction commenced on each clinic, Tri-North managed the overall construction process on both projects as well as acting as the LEED® consultant for both projects.

This high-end facility is a part of Meriter’s integrated health system that makes it easier for patients to see their family doctors for primary care, lab and medical imaging and various therapies. The most unique design concept of the building is showcased at the building’s entrance: two large 2-story glass towers which serve as welcoming visual beacons day and night. During the day, the beacons draw plentiful natural light into the interior. The sunlight is enhanced by clerestory windows that connect the towers. At night, the towers light up beautifully, leading patients to the warm space.

The 30,000 square foot new facility was designed with sustainable design principles to achieve LEED® Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. Sustainable features include use of regional and recycled materials, in-floor radiant heating in all providers’ offices, and natural lighting, among many other environmentally-friendly elements. The campus is also equipped with outdoor patio areas and walking paths for added comfort, in addition to
conference room areas for educational purposes.
