Lussier Community Education Center

Located on Madison’s west side, the Wexford Ridge Neighborhood Center has a tradition of serving residents and organizations in need. For over 30 years, the Center has offered programs for children and teens, adult learning programs, and programs for the elderly.

From the beginning of our relationship, our client’s goals were to build a sustainable building that would be inviting and provide the needed space to expand its programs. Additionally, they were looking for ways to reduce their overall costs. The new LCEC, designed by Kee Architecture, is a 12,000 SF building designed to be LEED® Silver certified. It incorporates many sustainable features including a geothermal heat pump system, operable windows, and native plant rain gardens (the perfect setting to get kids out of a typical classroom environment for learning about nature).
